Robbie Ure goals somewhat predictably continued yet again yesterday. He is now in the current Swedish season, on 19 goals from only 18 games for IK Sirius. Robbie Ure goals away to Elfsborg yesterday
Ure’s first goal was when Isak Bjerkebo, like Ure having a great season, collected the ball on the left wing in his own half. Speedy Bjerkebo then skipped past one & then a 2nd defender, leaving them eating dust. After Bjerkebo cut inside & into the box, Isak Pettersson was unable to hold Bjerkebo’s shot. Ure yet again was in the right place at the right time, knocking the ball home with one touch of his left foot. 2-0 Sirius.
Ure’s 2nd goal came when the unfortunate Elfsborg captain, Sebastian Holmén, not leading by example, slipped when in possession of the ball in the centre circle. Ure immediately seized on his clear run at goal. With only the GK to beat, he rifled home his chance with his left foot. That made it 3-1 to Sirius, the score with which the game ended.
Ure also won his team a penalty when pulled off his feet by Rasmus Wikström. Bjerkebo, though, on this occasion, had his spot kick saved. Ure, in a nice little bit of team support afterwards, went over to Bjerkebo to quietly assure him everything is OK & not to worry about the missed penalty.
The match highlights are here,
Consequently, Sirius remain 9 points clear but now on 35 points at the top of the table after 13 games. 2nd place Hammarby have played a game extra.

Should Scotland call up Ure for the Nations League games in September?
Our opinion on this remains unchanged. Indeed, Ure’s omission from the Scotland squad for World Cup 2026 seems increasingly questionable. However, the continuation of the weekly Robbie Ure goals show means the incoming Scots boss-to-be must seriously consider him for selection in the Autumn internationals.
Let’s see between now & then, who Ure is playing for, how much game time he is given, and what his output is at a likely higher standard than he currently plays at.
